Double Century in ODI full List
Almost two decades ago, it seemed impossible to score a double hundred in One Day cricket. It was the year 1975 when Glenn Turner of New Zealand score first 150 plus score in ODI cricket. Being there at the crease fore more then 30-40 or sometimes even more than 45 overs needs patience, perseverance, dedication and much more.
Till 2009 more then fifty batters scored more than 150 plus score in an ODI inning. It is also a well known fact that grounds were bigger at that point of time and it was difficult to hit sixes and fours. For example, the iconic Lord’s stadium had once boundary dimensions above 80 meters and it has come down to 65-70 meters now.
Eventually after centuries and decades of cricket being played as a sport, Sachin Tendulkar in 2010 scored the first ever double hundred in the ODI cricket history. After Sachin created history, batter’s mentality has changed, with more boundaries and more aggressiveness in the batting style of players things have changed drastically.
It took decades and decades for a batsman to score first double hundred in the 50 over cricket match. But following then 12 double centuries have been hit and the journey of ODI Cricket has been sensational as we have seen more sixes being hit. So let’s take a look at all the double centuries in ODI cricket.
