ICC T20 world cup was first held in South Africa in 2007. India created history that year by becoming the very first Twenty 20 Cricket world champions in history. Since then ICC T20 world cup has been held 8 times. England and West Indies are the only two teams who have won the trophy twice. England are also the current champions and will be defending their title in upcoming T20 World cup which will be held in United States of America and West Indies.
Apart from India, England and West Indies. Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Australia have also won the T20 world cup once each. Pakistan, Sri Lanka and England are the teams to have played most finals till now and they are tied at 3. While India, West Indies and Australia have reached the ICC T20 world cup final twice till now. Let’s take a look at all T20 world cup champions till now.
